Hi, I’m Taryn, a writer who helps print magazines and online publications strengthen their readership by providing quality copy, click-worthy photos and elegant designs.
I graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Magazine Journalism in 2008. Since then, I’ve been making a living writing about home design, technology, weddings, entertaining, food and pets for a variety of clients.
You might have seen my work in magazines and across the web. I’ve contributed pieces to AOL Living’s Paw Nation, Apartment Therapy Re-Nest, Apartment Therapy Unplggd, Offbeat Mama, everydog Magazine, UF Today and Florida Magazine.
Since 2008, I’ve been a co-editor for Apartment Therapy’s home technology blog Unplggd. Before that, I held editorial positions on the staffs of UF Today, Orange & Blue Magazine and Florida Magazine.
I also love to talk about the process of starting and running blogs. I hold a diploma from DASH, a fine-arts and design school in Miami, Florida, where I learned to design and build websites from the ground up. I’ve put that training to good use consulting companies and other bloggers on the design and readability of their own sites, as well as creating my own party and wedding blog, FormalFringe.com.
I currently live in Atlanta, Georgia, exploring new restaurants in which to stuff my face. I also love playing trivia games, dancing in my living room and catching up on good reads.
But mostly eating, really. I even named my dog Bacon.
If you want to talk about blogging, recommend a great restaurant or stump me with a trivia question, drop me a line at taryn@tarynevelynfiol.com.
